Interview Done By Mike Wilkerson

MW: Please introduce yourself?
TR: Tommy (Wolf) Rossini  I’m the vocalist , founding member.
Dave Bates (guitar)
David Fry (Bass)
Kevin Katich (Drums)

MW: What made you decide to do a  Ronnie James DIO tribute?
TR: In Sept. 2009 in Tampa bay where this started , none of the bands playing out were playing any traditional metal, melodic metal or power metal . it was mostly country, Rap & a small  underground hardcore/death metal scene . I wanted to see the kind of band   & hear the music that would raise the hair on the back of your neck . I thought who can I do justice to vocally & then I noticed there wasn’t a DIO  tribute in the whole southeast U.S..

MW: What is your favorite song to play live?
TR: Hard question. All of DIO’s material is great, I guess if I had to pick Children Of The Sea or Kill The King. Children of the sea is very dramatic & kill the king is a very high energy adrenaline rush live .

MW: Give me a sample song list?
TR: The King Of Rock & Roll
We Rock
Children Of The Sea
Neon Knights
Kill The King
Straight Through The Heart
I Could Have Been A Dreamer
All The Fools Sailed Away
Man On The Silver Mountain
Voodoo
The Mob Rules
Rainbow Int The Dark
Holy Diver
Long Live Rock & Roll
The Last In Line
Don’t Talk To Strangers
Sacred Heart
Heaven & Hell

MW: How many shows a year does RAINBOW IN THE DARK do?
TR: the goal this year is to try to do as many shows as we can with Dave’s original band & book as many shows as we can around the music schedule of everyone else in the band.

MW: Where are some of the places you have played?
TR: They were all in Tampa Bay.

MW: What has been your biggest crowd? And where?
TR: Honestly not sure, no one ever gave me a count… Tampa Bay for live crowd, but I’m sure that record will be broken in Los Angeles this year. if I look on our web page, the top 3 cities for largest  number of fans goes like this:
#1 Los Angels , CA
#2 Sao Paulo , Brazil
#3 Las Vegas , Nv

MW: What can fans expect from RAINBOW IN THE DARK in 2013?
TR: They can expect to be risen from the dead LOL.

MW: Do you have stuff you sale at shows?
TR: Shirts with the logo.

MW: Do you have a website where you sale stuff?
TR: YES, What I’m excited about selling on the web site is a pay per view of live streaming shows, thats the plan, if promoters can’t afford to fly us to some of these places where people are asking for us. I think a live streaming show is much better experience than selling a CD or T-shirt.

MW: Do any of the members of RAINBOW IN THE DARK have a original project?
TR: Dave plays in Edge Of Paradise , Kevin is a session Drummer. I write & Record as a solo artist & am currently trying to get a video made for a song I recorded.

MW: Where is  RAINBOW IN THE DARK from?
TR: Los Angeles , CA.

MW: Give me a day in your life?
TR: We break camp at sunrise, mount the horses & prepare our weapons for battle. another day, another dragon to slay. (Dio fans will understand) LOL to translate into 2013 terms most my day is spent on computer & cell talking to people from all parts of the Metal music world. Honestly there is so much work that goes into putting on a GOOD tribute show that someone needs to make a reality show for it.

MW: How can someone book RAINBOW IN THE DARK ?
TR: You can contact us thru, http://www.facebook.com/RainbowIntheDark which also links to our ReverbNation page.

MW: What would you like to say in closing?
TR: That this Ronnie James DIO tribute is done with love & respect for the man, its not just another tribute. This is a celebration of the life & music of the man. We are all influenced by Ronnie as musicians but as I took on this project it became uncanny how much I had in common with him as a person. Come out & be a part of the DIO / RAINBOW IN THE DARK family. Live music can’t stay alive without you.

Interview Done By Mike Wilkerson

MW: Please introduce yourself?
DI: My name is DUDU ISABEL and I’m the lead singer of HUNGRY FOR HEAVEN (Ronnie James Dio tribute band from Transylvania).

MW: What made you decide to do a Ronnie James Dio tribute?
DI: Unfortunately, his premature demise. As a vocalist and a performer, I was deeply influenced by the great man’s appearance, so when he passed away, I thought people should get the chance to witness live the performance, the songs, the magic. Further more, with Heaven and Hell disbanded and Ozzy back in Sabbath, there are a lot of great songs featuring Ronnie’s vocals that will never get played again in front of a live audience. We just try to carry on the flame. Thus, Ronnie will always be with us. This is our tribute to a epic artist.

MW: What is your favorite song to play live?
DI: If I have to choose, I’d say SHAME ON THE NIGHT, from the 1983 Holy Diver album. It’s very dark, but at the same time, very erotic. Also, it’s pretty difficult to sing and I love this kind of challenge!

MW: Give me a sample song list?
DI: DIO songs:
WE ROCK
HOLY DIVER
DREAM EVIL
RAINBOW IN THE DARK
THE LAST IN LINE
HUNGRY FOR HEAVEN
DON’T TALK TO STRANGERS
EGYPT
ROCK’N’ROLL CHILDREN
STARS
AS LONG AS IT’S NOT ABOUT LOVE
PUSH
SHAME ON THE NIGHT
THIS IS YOUR LIFE
ALL THE FOOLS SAILED AWAY

BLACK SABBATH songs:
FALLIN’ OFF THE EDGE OF THE WORLD
I
HEAVEN AND HELL

HEAVEN AND HELL songs:
BIBLE BLACK
FOLLOW THE TEARS
DIE YOUNG

RAINBOW songs:
CATCH THE RAINBOW
MAN ON THE SILVER MOUNTAIN
LONG LIVE ROCK’N’ROLL

MW: How many shows a year does HUNGRY FOR HEAVEN do?
DI: Beein a new band, I’d say between 10 and 30 shows/year.

MW: Where are some of the places you have played?
DI: For now, romanian places only: Cluj Napoca, Sibiu, Satu Mare, Bistrita, Alba Iulia and so on, but we’re lookin’ to expand.

MW: What has been your biggest crowd? And where?
DI: I’d say about one 5-600 people, at a biker’s meeting near Cluj Napoca.

MW: What can fans expect from HUNGRY FOR HEAVEN in 2013?
DI: More songs, more shows, more live videos, maybe a national tour, in loving memory of Ronnie James.

MW: Do you have stuff you sale at shows?
DI: No. We don’t own any rights to the songs, so we don’t put out any merchandise related to the artist we’re bringin’ tribute to.

MW: Do any of the members of HUNGRY FOR HEAVEN have a original project?
DI: I have a modern metal band called VESPERA (https://www.facebook.com/VesperaRomania), the drummer and keyboard player play heavy metal with SHE WOLF.

MW: Where is HUNGRY FOR HEAVEN from?
DI: CLUJ NAPOCA, TRANSYLVANIA.

MW: Give me a day in your life.
DI: I get up, get my breakfast, do some cardio and then dive right into vocal trainings for about one, one and a half hour. Then I’m off to the morning band practice, for about two hours. After that, it’s nap/lunch/emails/misc stuff, till 6 in the afternoon, when the night band practice is scheduled, up til 9 or 10 pm.

MW: How can someone book HUNGRY FOR HEAVEN?
DI: Just get in touch with us at https://www.facebook.com/hungryforheavenband and we can talk!

MW: What would you like to say in closing?
DI: Long live rock’n’roll!!!

Interview Done By Mike Wilkerson

MW: Please introduce yourself?
PM: My name is Paul McCann, I’m from Cavan, Ireland and I have recently developed a Johnny Cash Tribute band together with some incredibly talented friends.

MW: What made you decide to do a Johnny Cash tribute?
PM: I was brought up listening to Johnny Cash records. My mother was always a huge Johnny Cash fan. I always loved his music, but when he started releasing the Rick Rubin produced American Recordings albums, I took a much keener interest in his music and his incredible back catelog. The idea to start a tribute band started as a much smaller idea, with myself and three friends playing some basic Johnny songs. Then I had the idea to include a backing band to recreate what Carl Perkins and The Carter Family brought to Johnny’s sets. It really takes the songs to a whole new level.

MW: What is your favorite song to play live?
PM: At the moment, I am REALLY loving Daddy Sang Bass. Anything where the whole band is contributing really sounds incredible. We’re in the early stages of working on a song called ‘Children, Go Where I Send Thee’, which is an African Gospel song which Johnny used to play live. Everyone in the band has a line to sing, so I’m very excited about that one right now.

MW: Give me a sample song list?
PM: We start the set with song of the classic band songs like Folsom Prison Blues, Boy Names Sue, Cry Cry Cry, Cocaine Blues, strip things down in the middle for Give my love to Rose, Hurt, Drive on and Delia and then get the whole band out for Ghost Riders, Jackson, Ballad of the Teenage Queen, Daddy Sang Bass and Ring of Fire. That’s just a few of the songs we’re doing.

MW: How many shows a year does ‘Get Rhythm – a tribute to Johnny Cash’ do?
PM: I couldn’t really say that at the moment. We are still in the process of scheduling our prison tour which is 8 shows and counting. We are hoping to get a few ‘non prison’ shows organized soon, as there has been incredible interest from people to come see us. Its very refreshing.

MW: Where are some of the places you have played?
PM: We have just completed the first of our Prison shows in Loughan House Prison. That was an incredible experience.

MW: What has been your biggest crowd? And where?
PM: Prior to our recent prison show in Loughan House to about 150 people, our biggest crowd was for a recent video shoot we done at a railway station. There were 2 people filing us….and 5 friends spectating (including our drummers wife and 2 kids)….so up to last weeks prison show, 7 people has been our biggest crowd.

MW: What can fans expect from ‘Get Rhythm – a tribute to Johnny Cash’ in 2013?
PM: Its been a very busy year so far, getting the set together, meeting with the Prison officials and organizing that side of things. As I said, it would be great to get some nice theater venue gigs and take this show around the country. Time will tell.

MW: Do you have stuff you sale at shows?
PM: All we sell at our shows is the best damn performance we can.

MW: Do you have a website where you sale stuff?
PM: We have an official Facebook page. At the moment, we do not sell merchandise, but if the demand arises, we will start.

MW: Do any of the members of ‘Get Rhythm – a tribute to Johnny Cash’ have a original project?
PM: Yes, myself and three other members of the band also have an originals band called ‘The Wags’. We’ve been lucky enough to play some incredible venues including several shows at Liverpools Cavern Club, and also played and recorded with numerous musicians in the past, including members of the Brian Wilson Band/Beach Boys, The Duckworth Lewis Method, Pugwash and Picturehouse.

MW: Where is ‘Get Rhythm – a tribute to Johnny Cash’ from?
PM: Get Rhythm are a Cavan based band. We all grew up in the same area and have been playing music together for years.

MW: Give me a day in your life.
PM: “Wake up, get out of bed…drag a comb across my head”. Lately my days consist of very little sleep. We’re practicing a lot for these shows right now, so when I’m not practicing….I’m constantly reciting lyrics. It’s beyond me how Johnny Cash could remember ALL of those lyrics. He recorded over 1,500 songs, not to mention live performances and duets of other peoples songs on The Johnny Cash Show which aired in between 1969-71.

MW: How can someone book ‘Get Rhythm – a tribute to Johnny Cash’?
PM: People can contact us via our Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/GetRhythmATributetoJohnnyCash) or contact myself on 087 6347784 or our Manager, Aine, on 086 1275310.

MW: What would you like to say in closing?
PM:We’re very interested in touring the country and hopefully perform Johnny Cash’s music to a variety of audiences and hopefully encounter new experiences. Since our first shows are primarily for prisoners, we would love to hear other ideas on where to take this show.
“Success is having to worry about every damn thing in the world, except money”. Johnny Cash.
Thanks one n’ all.

Interview Done By Mike Wilkerson

MW: Please introduce yourself
King Zombie: Hello everybody, I am King Zombie, frontman of the Devil’s Rejects.

MW: What made you decide to do a Rob Zombie tribute?
King Zombie: I love Rob Zombie as an artist and admire his different types of art. I’ve never seen a tribute band of him in my country, just one in the whole europe and it was more a cover than a tribute band. I wasn’t satisfied with this situation, so I decided to create a band who deserves to be called a “tribute”

MW: What is your favorite song to play live?
King Zombie: Maybe “What?”. I love all of his songs, but this one sounds better live than studio to me, so I love to play it and make everyone scream and dance, as a hell of a party.

MW: Give me a sample song list?
King Zombie: We play the same tracklist of Zombie himself, from the classics: Dragula, Superbeast, Living Dead Girl, to the new stuff. We usually play two or more songs from each album.

MW: How many shows a year does the Devil’s Rejects do?
King Zombie: The first tour we made included ten shows, from October to April. This time we’re touring with the Manson Elite (Marilyn Manson Tribute). We named the tour “The Twins of Evil” of course, and we’re playing more than the last year.

MW: Where are some of the places you have played?
King Zombie: We’ve been traveling through the whole country (especially north Italy) wich is a good thing I guess.

MW: What has been your biggest crowd? And where?
King Zombie: At Exenzia Club in Prato (Italy), on the Halloween night of course. That was an hell of a show and the crowd was amazing.

MW: What can fans expect from the Devil’s Rejects in 2013?
King Zombie: We’re working on adding some new songs from “Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor”, you’re surely going to listen to our version of “Dead City Radio and the New Gods of Supertown”

MW: Do you have stuff you sale at shows?
King Zombie: We only sale Jonh Rox albums and shirts. Jonh Rox is an original band, composed by the same members of the Devil’s Rejects.

MW: Do you have a website where you sale stuff?
King Zombie: Sure, http://www.john-rox.com

MW: Do any of the members of the Devil’s Rejects have a original project?
King Zombie: Yes, as I told before the band members play in the project John Rox. As for myself, I’m the lead singer of Zombie Sam too, so check it out!

MW: Where is the Devil’s Rejects from?
King Zombie: Italy.

MW: Give me a day in your life.
King Zombie: Well, I do a lot of stuff. I have some channels on Youtube, I create masks and I am a filmaker too. So my days can be very different from each other.

MW: How can someone book the Devil’s Rejects?
King Zombie: Just contact us usign this mail: management@john-rox.com

MW: What would you like to say in closing?
King Zombie: lease follow us in our projects, you won’t be disappointed! Help us becoming the best Rob Zombie tribute band in the world with your support! See ya!

Queen2

Interview Done By Mike Wilkerson

MW: Please introduce yourself?

QII: We are QUEEN II Magic Tribute from Berlin/Germany, 5 long term Queen Fanatics who passionately bring back on stage the spirit of a Queen concert.

MW: What made you decide to do a QUEEN tribute?

QII: Well, the idea really germinated way back in 1981 when Mathias (The Diekn) and Wolf (B2) where playing together in a Cover Band, doing mainly AOR type of music such as Foreigner, Journey, Heart, Rush etc. We were both ardent Queen Fans and wanted to form a “Tribute” band. At that point no one was familiar with the idea of playing songs from just one band. After almost 20 years that we had not seen each other we met again and decided to play Queen songs in B2’s living room, just for fun. We decided to move on and find people to form a Queen Tribute band. Everything else developed from there.

MW: What is your favorite song to play live?

QII: That’s a tough one! Very often it is a new song which we haven’t played before and it’s great to see how it sounds and develops. At the moment it’s a track called “Death On Two Legs”…

MW: Give me a sample song list?

setlist2011

MW: How many shows a year does QUEEN II do?

QII: It differs, perhaps around 20-25. We don’t play that many shows as unfortunately we are not able to play small clubs because of the size of our production, but the ones we play are always big events! We hope to be touring in the near future, too.

MW: Where are some of the places you have played?

QII: Some of the better known places we have played are The Annual Queen Fan Club Meeting Germany, The Red Bull Six Days Enduro World Championship (Sachsenring, Saxonia), The Hard Rock Café, The Maschseefest (Hanover)

MW: What has been your biggest crowd? And where?

QII: The Maschseefest, Hanover where we had about 2500 people.

MW: What can fans expect from QUEEN II in 2013?

QII: Oh, some great news as we will introduce our new singer Michael Kluch! He is from Czech Republic and has the most amazing and powerful voice and is a fantastic Freddie-Performer! More gigs, new songs to add and of course some costume-surprises by our very own Diekn…;-)

MW: Do you have stuff you sale at shows?

QII: Yes, we have T-shirts, posters and coffee mugs on display.

MW: Do you have a website where you sale stuff?

QII: We do have a website(German/English language: www.queen2.de,) but do not offer a direct marketing on it. This might change in the near future though. Of course it’s possible to order stuff via email and pay through Paypal or Bank Transfer.

MW: Do any of the members of QUEEN II have an original project?

QII: No, at the moment there is simply no time for any outside activities. We put all our efforts into QUEEN II.

MW: Where is QUEEN II from?

QII: We are based in Berlin/Germany. Our singer is from Prague/Czech Republic.

MW: Give me a day in your life.

QII: A typical “gig-day” would look like this: leaving in the morning for next destination, arriving at the venue about noon/afternoon, unloading, putting up backline, band arriving at the accommodation, then leave for sound check, after that either back to the hotel or unwinding at the dressing room, usually have something to eat, get dressed and mentally preparing for the show. Show call usually at 8.00. Show, usually until 10.00/10.30. Quick change afterwards and back to the auditorium to meet fans and have the occasional drink…;-) Depending on the schedule either returning to the hotel or back home.

QII:
MW: How can someone book QUEEN II?

QII: Please send you’re booking requests (also in English language) to booking@queen2.de or visit our homepage www.queen2.de

MW: What would you like to say in closing?

QII: It is vitally important that QUEEN II is not just another Cover band but recreate the spirit and impact which have made a Queen show something outstanding. Having seen Queen many times during the 70s/80s and also meeting the band we always wanted to put together an act that we would love to see ourselves. So far it has worked perfectly in Germany. Now we are ready for the rest of the world. One worldwide vision.

Interview Done By Mike Wilkerson

MW: Please introduce yourself?
BD: Hi There – this is Bob “ThunderBob” Duda, drummer of PYROMANIA!

MW: What made you decide to do a DEF LEPPARD tribute?
BD: Def Leppard is one if not THE biggest band to come out of the ‘80’s and continue to be very popular still in the year 2013. Back in 2000 the tribute scene was just taking off and there were NO Def Leppard tributes so we thought what better band to try & recreate for the fans and for ourselves. Current members Neal Shelton, Michael O’Mara and I are the 3 original band members. Guitarist John Kulczyk has been in the band for about 5 years and Andrew Freeman on bass for 2 years.

MW: What is your favorite song to play live?
BD: Def Leppard has so many great songs and we cover their entire catalog of music. Each member has its own favorites of course but mine are Let It Go, Rock Of Ages, Let’s get Rocked and because it’s a crowd favorite, Pour Some Sugar On Me!

MW: Give me a sample song list?
BD: Right now we have 24 songs on our master list. We play all the hit’s obviously and some of the not so familiar songs like Me & My Wine, Wasted, Lady Strange, Tear It Down, Promises & 20th Century Boy.

MW: How many shows a year does PYROMANIA do?
BD: average around 25 shows a year

MW: Where are some of the places you have played?
BD: We have traveled all around the states, Canada, Puerto Rico and Trinidad-Port Of Spain. We are hoping to make it to the UK sometime soon!

MW: What has been your biggest crowd? And where?
BD: A few of our biggest shows have been in Milwaukee WI when we headlined the SUMMERFEST in 2004. We played in front of an estimated 8000 people. There was Riverfest in Illinois and Trinidad which was estimated at 5000 people.

MW: What can fans expect from PYROMANIA in 2013?
BD: We already have shows booked and every week adding more. We hope to go to places we have never been.

MW: Do you have stuff you sale at shows?
BD: Yes we usually have T-shirts and 8X10 photos.

MW: Do you have a website where you sale stuff?
BD: yes we do, www.defleppardtribute.com

MW: Do any of the members of PYROMANIA have an original project?
BD: Not really. We all are in one or two other tribute bands and do side projects. We have all been in original bands in the past, some you may have heard of. I was in Takara with Jeff Scott Soto & Michael O’Mara was in Talon. Neal Shelton was in a band called Black Triangle and Andrew Freeman has played with everyone! Ha ha

MW: Where is PYROMANIA from?
BD: we are based out of Southern California, USA.

MW: Give me a day in your life.
BD: (laughing) My everyday life is pretty boring. Ha ha Some guy’s in the band have a 9-5 type job, I do not. I’m just a regular guy doing regular stuff! Ha ha

MW: How can someone book PYROMANIA?
BD: very easily: Contact our management, Neal Shelton at the numbers below:
By phone: (714) 330-9428
By email: nealmuzic@aol.com

MW: What would you like to say in closing?
BD: Well first off, thank you for taking the time to interview us! We’d like to thank DEF LEPPARD for creating some of the best music then & now! And for the skeptical ones, Pyromania is in its 11th year together and we don’t think we are Def Leppard, we do this out of love & respect for them & the music they created. I have spoken to members of Def Leppard about Pyromania & they think it’s cool. This is our way to keep the music alive and fans can come and rock out to a Def Leppard concert experience without having to wait for Def Leppard to go on tour. We are kind of like a pre-tour party, a warm up to the real thing!
