MW: Please introduce yourself to the Blastzone Online readers.
AM: My name is Alex Moody, I am one of the partners at Kinetik eJuice. I handle sales and marketing primarily. David Lagor manages the lab and creates our premixes and oversees the bottling process.
MW: Take me on a ride on starting KINETIK?
AM: Kinetik eJuice began as Kinetik Vapors in 2010, a tiny company in New Hampshire. The founders started by mixing flavors in these old 10ml plastic bottles with market written on them to discern the flavor and nicotine. We would take those plus some starter kits to county fairs and sell them to friends to help them quit smoking.
After a few years we realized we had something bigger than we ever imagined and as the industry started transitioning more towards a sub ohm culture our thicker blends we’re becoming highly sought after. Initially we called it max VG but then every startup juice company with more than 50% VG started calling their juice “max” so we rebranded to ULTRA VG, because at 96-98.7% VG we have the thickest full flavor blends in the industry.
MW: What was the first flavor you ever created for KINETIK?
AM: Elvis was the first. Over the years we have created hundreds of flavors, with over two dozen making retail rotation at various points. They were all memorable and unique in their own way, but through it all Elvis has survived the cuts we have made for business reasons to our current Five Flavor menu.
MW: What KINETIK are now for sale?
AM: Currently our menu consists of Dead & Berry’d our top selling juice of all time, Innocence Lost, Elvis, Gramma’s House and The Bandwagon. Our newest flavor, Skeetles has been in beta nearly four months and is releasing very soon.
MW: Are you planning any more KINETIK?
AM: We always have dozens of flavors in beta, and side projects we are working. Very few ever make it to retail distribution, but the excitement around Skeetles has been palpable. We have had to delay release twice due to the high demand in order to build inventory to supply all of our retail vape shop partners on day one.
MW: What made you want to start KINETIK?
AM: We have a passion for vaping. Quitting smoking was the biggest accomplishment and we wanted to share it with others. The business has grown from that passion.
MW: Do you use glass or plastic?
AM: All glass bottles with Child Proof droppers.
MW: Do you do 10ml, 15ml, 30ml or higher?
AM: 30ml and 120ml Bottle sizes
MW: What is your price point per bottle?
AM: MSRP is $22.00/ bottle in stores and is sold for $18.00 at http://www.kinetikejuice.com. 120Mls are $65.00.
MW: What MG do you do?
AM: Our ULTRA VG line is designed for drippers and Sub Ohm tanks. It is available in 0, 2.5 and 5mg nicotine levels.
MW: What ratios can you do?
AM: ULTRA VG means the thickest juice in the industry. Each of our flavors at the highest nicotine level is in excess of 96% VG.
MW: Do you ever ask fans for advice on flavors?
AM: Our extensive beta testing process involves beta and pre-release sampling with our customers and in the shops that our products are sold.
MW: What is your opinion on the FDA interfering in E-juice sells?
AM: We are very active in Vape NH, a non-profit advocacy group dedicated to promoting vaping in NH and fighting the onslaught of regulations. The FDA will regulate it, we hope they use common sense and set realistic standards that proactive and smart business minded companies can meet and stay in business.
MW: Give me one true fact about using a E-cig as opposed to smoking a cigarette?
AM: 4 common, safe ingredients in eLiquid… 4000+ carcinogens in cigarettes. There isn’t much else that needs to be said.
MW: Do you ship worldwide?
AM: We have customers all over the globe. 5 continents at last count.
